“Tunnel vision” is the tendency to think only about one thing, and to ignore everything else.

“And it came to pass after this, that Absalom the son of David had a fair sister, whose name was Tamar; and Amnon the son of David loved her. And Amnon was so vexed, that he fell sick for his sister Tamar; for she was a virgin, and Amnon thought it hard for him to do anything to her.”
Your emotions can make you develop a tunnel vision. Amnon fell in love with his sister Tamar, and was “vexed.” The original Hebrew meaning of the word translated “vexed” means to be narrow or pressed.
Amnon developed a narrow or tunnel vision, and it pressurized or pressed him to make a wrong decision. He raped his own sister to satisfy his sexual desires. He was eventually killed by his brother Absalom as a result of this. His tunnel vision led to his death.
Reason offers a wider cone of vision than our emotions. When you rely on emotions like; bitterness, love, anger, hurt, and jealousy to guide you, it narrows your vision and causes you to make bad decisions and choices based on a narrow perspective.
There are many factors to consider when making decisions. Your ability to factor in everything; from the spiritual to the physical is key if you are going to make the right choices.
Remember that your spirit and mind have a wider cone of vision than your emotions. Take them into consideration when making key decisions!
