Recently, I was watching the news and got struck by how vicious humans can be. I saw several war tanks, firing missiles and killing people. I do not believe lions or cheetahs manufacture machines to kill. Only humans make sophisticated machines for the sole purpose of killing.

There seems to be an innate tendency in us to harm each other. It is evident all around us; robbery, fraud, cheating, and murder. What can be done to mitigate this?

Isaiah 11:9
“They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain:for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord,as the waters cover the sea.”

The Holy Mountain described here is Mount Zion – the “Heavenly Jerusalem.” We learn from this verse that there is neither “hurt” nor destruction in heaven.
Two qualities make this possible. Let’s examine them.

Firstly is holiness.
When we lead a holy life according to the standards of the Word, it helps us to love our neighbor as ourselves and promote love.

Secondly, the knowledge of the lord.
The more we know about God, the more we allow our character to be shaped and moulded by Him. The Scripture also transforms us and makes us take on the image of God.

Lead a holy life! Read the Word daily! It will help you live peaceably with your fellow man!
