One favourite weapon the devil uses against us is words.
When Ezra set out to rebuild Jerusalem, he used this weapon against him.
Ezra 4:5
“And hired counsellors against them, to frustrate their purpose, all the days of Cyrus king of Persia, even until the reign of Darius king of Persia.”
The main job of a counsellor is to advice. When the devil wants to frustrate you, he can influence people to give bad advice concerning you. This advice can come in several ways.
1. Thoughts and ideas.
Some thoughts and ideas are actually demons speaking to the mind. Remember, the devil used Peter to advice Jesus not to go to the cross.
2. The advice of people.
Sometimes, people can give negative advice concerning you. It can even be backed up with facts and figures. However, spirits are capable of influencing people to do that, especially people in authority.
It’s time to pray and shut the mouth of every wicked counsellor who is advising someone against you. Why he or she should not marry you; why you should not be given a contract, hired or even promoted.
Shut the mouth of that wicked counsellor today!
