What Is Priority In Your Life?

Ecclesiastes 5:10

“He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity.”

Many people have put money first in their lives instead of God. I know a man who worked very hard when he went abroad. He rose to become a bank manager and made a lot of money. In those days, it was not easy for black people to rise up for such positions. It was not easy to become a bank manager at that time.

With time, he retired and returned to his home country. Shortly after, he had an accident and died. All he worked for and dreamed failed. All his aspirations ended tragically in one day.

You see, he placed emphasis on only one thing; money. He did not know that there is someone more important than money. That person is God.

The fact that you have life is even enough for you to know that God is the ultimate. It is God who gives you permission to live. If He does not grant you that permission, you are a dead man.

Luke 12:16-21 describes the plight of a rich man whose values were based only on natural things.

“And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”

This rich man had a poor relationship with God. God called him a fool because he concentrated on something which should not have been number one in his life. That thing was money.

Make a decision today, to make God your priority in everything you do.
