Isaiah 26:1

“A Song of Praise. In that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah: We have a strong city; God makes salvation its walls and ramparts.”

One of the metaphors the Bible uses to describe people is buildings or cities. The children of God are sometimes called “God’s building” or a “City.”

From this verse, we learn that we; the people of God, have a strong city. In other words, we are protected from many things.

There are invisible walls around us that protect us. These walls are called the walls of “Salvation.” One thing that salvation does is, it protects you. When you repent and decide to live for the lord, these invisible walls come around you. They protect you from vices that will destroy your body; relationships that will destroy your home; greed that will send you to prison, and eternally from hell.

Salvation acts like walls and ramparts. A rampart is a thick wall of protection.

The result of protection is “praise.” You will praise God for His goodness; others will praise God for you.

Are you saved? It’s time to follow Jesus and be protected on all sides!
