Psalms 64:1
“To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.”
There are some people who feel uncomfortable when they have enemies. It could be in your office, amongst your friends or within your family.
In this Psalm, David acknowledges the fact that every man has enemies. Sometimes, your enemies are the proof that you are blessed. This is because the Lord prepares a table for us in the presence of our enemies.
David did not ask God to make his enemies his friends but he prayed that he would be delivered from the fear of them. We can do nothing about our enemies but we can do something about how we respond to them. We must not fear them.
The fear of your enemies will give them control over your life and open you up to manipulation, coercion and domination. This could eventually cause you to make wrong decisions. To avoid this, David prayed that God would deliver him from the fear of the enemy.
Pray about your response to your enemies that God will deliver you from fear.
