“For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed; then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction, that he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man. He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.”
When you are travelling and do not know your destination, you can board any bus or plane. However, when you are travelling and you know your exact destination, you jump on a bus that is headed where you are going. One thing I have realised about dreams and visions is that they give your life a destination.
When God gives you a vision concerning your life, it gives you a plan, a purpose, something to look up to. Once this happens, you know your exact destination. This element is important in order for you to have a successful Christian life.
It is good to find your calling early so you do not waste your energy and resources. I thank God that when I gave my life to Christ, He appeared to me in a vision and gave me direction. Since then, I have stayed focused.
The scripture above outline some benefits of dreams and visions: “That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.” The cardinal and greatest sin of man is to turn away to his own way and be independent of God. This is summarised in Isaiah 53:6, “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.”
God will show you in a dream His purpose and plan for your life.
God wants to direct you in dreams and visions. He wants to deliver you from a bad job, marriage, danger, or going to hell. He wants to deliver your soul in totality.
May God help you to see the plans He has for your life!
