One thing we need in every place is the fear of God. It needs to be present in our hearts, homes, marriage, offices, and country. It’s a good quality which must pervade who we are and everything we do. What makes it so important?
Fear is a powerful emotion that influences our decisions and actions, but it can be used negatively or positively. For example, recently I was standing on the balcony of a very tall building. Suddenly, very strong winds started blowing. I made a good decision to leave because I found it dangerous. The fear of falling influenced me to make the right decision.
Genesis 20:11
“And Abraham said, because I thought, Surely the fear of God is not in this place; and they will slay me for my wife’s sake.”
When Abraham arrived in Canaan, he realized the fear of God was not present in that country. He decided to leave because men who lived there were not governed by the fear of God and could make very wicked decisions including murder.
It is dangerous to be in a relationship without the fear of God. People who don’t fear God can be mean and wicked. When you work for people who don’t fear God, they can easily manipulate and exploit you. When you don’t have the fear of God in your heart, you can make wrong decisions.
Let the fear of God pervade your life and watch yourself blossom.
