Following God can be likened to being guided by a GPS system in a car. I remember driving with a friend in the States to visit a mutual friend. After feeding the address into the onboard GPS system, we started following the voice prompts. When we were to turn left, I would hear, “turn left” and so on. When we were to go straight there was silence although we passed other junctions. Along the way, my impatient friend made a wrong turn because he did not wait for the next command. It was a wrong turn.
Matthew 2:13 reads, “…The angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.”
Joseph was supposed to remain in Egypt till God gave him the next command to leave Egypt because Herod wanted to kill Jesus. Waiting on God for your next command can be difficult, especially when time is passing, age is not on your side and your opportunities seem to be diminishing. The worst mistake you can make is to say let me do something about it.
Be patient and wait for your next command from your spiritual G.P.S; God!
