The word protocol means a system of rules that explain the correct conduct and procedures to be followed in formal situations. Our relationship with God has protocols that must be observed. Sometimes, we can get familiar with God and break the protocols. The Lord may wink at some; but in some cases, we can attract his judgment

When David went to bring the ark of God to Jerusalem, he carried it on a cart pulled by oxen. A certain man called Uzzah, who was not a Levite touched it when the ark shook. It was an act with good intent but it disregarded protocol. The ark was to be borne only by the Levites and on human shoulders. Uzzah was slain by God for that breach; he did not follow order or protocol.

1 Chronicles 15:13

For because ye did it not at the first, the Lord our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought him not after the due order.

I have observed some protocols we sometimes break. For example, we are supposed to pray in the name of Jesus but we can pray to Mary or the Holy Spirit. We may even have some success in prayer but it does not take away the fact that due process must be followed.

Let us pray in the name of Jesus because that is divine protocol and you may never know when God will react.
