“But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.” (Gal. 5:18) “[This] I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth  against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.” (Gal. 5:16-17)
The word “lusteth” means to fight. According to Paul, the flesh is warring against the Spirit and the Spirit against the flesh, and the dominant one will win the war. When the Holy Spirit dominates the flesh, you do not operate by rules.
1 Timothy 1:9 says, “Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers.”
When you are filled with the Spirit, your actions are controlled by the Holy Spirit who convicts you when you err or make a wrong move. If you have a husband who is full of the Spirit, you will not have to make rules to compel him to love you and be kind to you. The Holy Spirit will influence him to do that.
Let us decide to be influenced by the Spirit and we will live above all human laws. Let your spirit dominate your flesh by feeding it with the word and prayer, and you will live above human laws.
