“Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.”

Psalm 23:5

Every blessed man is supposed to have enemies. David realized when God says, “Dinner is ready!” it means the waiters will be your enemies. They will not be grandma, your smiling wife, Aunt Lucy or your son; little junior. The table is always set in the presence of your enemies.

Do you know why they are around? They are there as God’s tools to move you higher. God used Goliath to bless David. He used Pharaoh to bless Moses.

I always thank God for a very unreasonable landlord I used to have. He forced me to build my house quickly. The man tormented my life!

Your boss may be persecuting you because it is time to start your own business. Your friend, Susan, may have snatched your boyfriend because he was not the right one for you. Jesus had formidable enemies.

Remember your enemies may be tools in the hand of a loving God. It is well with your soul.
