1 Corinthians 10:32-33

Do not cause anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God: Even as I try to please everyone in every way. For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, so that they may be saved.

One thing we must not do is to make our words and actions cause others to stumble, as they follow the Lord.

There are some things which can even be your legitimate right, but if you do them the effect on others will be negative.

What’s at stake? the blood of Jesus is far bigger than anything we may want to do.

For example, if someone were to see me in a hotel room, alone with a woman who is not my wife at a remote place and ungodly hour it will arouse unnecessary suspicion. It will damage the faith of some people, although I may not be necessarily doing something wrong.

It’s important we set a good example for our kids at home, so their faith is not undermined by the way we treat our spouses.

We cannot please ourselves all the time; sometimes for the sake of others, we have to sacrifice what may be our legitimate right, for the good of others.
