“For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.”
One definition of the word “Icon” is someone who becomes a symbol of something. For example, Mother Theresa is an “Icon of Love” because of her work amongst the poor. Pele the legendary soccer player is an icon of the sport.
God has His own icons like Abraham, who is an icon of faith. Upon what basis does God choose His icons? God Himself explained why He selected Abraham to be an icon. It was based on his ability to lead his family. In other words, the ability to build a solid family.
According to the standards and light available at that time, he was the best God could find. Maybe you want God to make you an icon as a mother, pastor, businessman, politician or a sportsman.
Build a good family and watch God make you an icon!
