Proverbs 1:15
“A wise [man] will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels.”
One of the marks of wisdom is the ability to listen. It is more difficult to listen than to talk. This is because we like talking, especially about ourselves. What makes a good listener wise is because listening helps you to understand. One word missing from a sentence can lead to confusion and misunderstanding.
I remember when I was in high school. I had a brilliant classmate who only copied his notes after class. He usually sat in front listening attentively and asking questions. He always taught the “note takers” after class because he understood.
Understanding leads to attainment, which means to reach a certain point or level. Many are talking busily to Jesus without finding time to listen.
Let’s take some time to hear what the Master Teacher has to say about our life, marriage, business, and challenges, and we will attain new heights!
