The preservation of our environment is important for the survival of the human race. There has been a push lately by certain countries and organizations to reduce carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere by fossil fuels. Some believe it is the cause of global warming and the implications are dire.

It is the responsibility of every human being to preserve the environment for ourselves, our children and generations yet unborn. Trees help to prevent desertification and reduce carbon dioxide in the atmosphere because they use carbon dioxide to produce oxygen. They are so important that it is said that when the last tree dies the last man will die. It seems the bible itself agrees with this statement.

Deuteronomy 20:19
“When thou shalt besiege a city a long time, in making war against it to take it, thou shalt not destroy the trees thereof by forcing an axe against them: for thou mayest eat of them, and thou shalt not cut them down (for the tree of the field is man’s life) to employ them in the siege”

Plant a tree to preserve your own life and the life of humanity because “for the tree of the field is man’s life”.
