The world is becoming more dangerous. Extremists and religious fanatics are stoking the fires of religious and racial tensions. Terrorists are using suicide bombs, guns, knives and cars to create terror.
Psalms 57:3-4
“He shall send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his mercy and his truth. My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.”
These verses begin with the solution and end with the problems.
For clarity, let’s start with the problems.
1. Viciousness
Radicals can become very vicious like lions. They can carry out suicide bombings or set themselves on fire. “My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire”
2. Propaganda
Radicals use the internet to disseminate propaganda.
Their “teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.”
How can you be protected?
Here are some solutions.
1. Prayer
Pray to God to “send from heaven to save” you. I believe this refers to the protection of the Holy Spirit and angels.
2. Mercy
Pray for mercy because if you do “God shall send forth his mercy
3. Live by “truth”
God’s word is impregnable, live by it irrespective of the changing standards of the world and the church.
