Hebrews 12:1

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.”

Patience is the ability to wait, to continue doing something despite difficulties, or to suffer without complaining. It may take years for your dreams to come to pass. It is not an overnight thing; it calls for time. Whatever you have dreamt about will come to pass with time. Patience calls for time.

Do you remember the parable of the talents? “After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them” (Matt. 25:19). What brought the difference between the three servants was patience; time. The one who went to hide his talent did so because he could not wait; he did not have patience.

You must learn to wait. You must learn to allow time to work things out.

I have been preaching for a very long time now. When you see me and yearn to be like me, be assured that it will not come easy. It will take long years to get there. During these long years, many things will try and derail you from achieving your aim. What will make you survive is patience.

Develop the ability to wait!
