Every path or road leads to a destination. Sometimes you can have several roads that lead to the same destination.
Psalms 17:4
“Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer.”
There are certain important details about this scripture that I want you to notice.
1. There is someone called the destroyer.
That person is the devil. In the book of John Jesus said the devil comes to steal, kill and to destroy. Destruction is his ultimate goal. The destruction of your marriage, peace, health and eventually your soul.
2. There are works or actions that can set you on this path.
What you do matters and whether we are aware or not our actions can inadvertently select the road of destruction.
Our choices and actions are little steps that can take us on the path of destruction
or the path of life.
3. How can we avoid this road?
By obeying the word of God. Jesus said “the words that I speak unto you they are life.”
When we obey the word we choose the path of life. It will give us spiritual and physical life. It will also give life to your finances, marriage and future.
Obey the word in all aspects of your life and you will escape the path of destruction.
