1 John 4:17
“Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.”

There are different types of love and the highest is perfect or matured love. Love is not a flippant unstable feeling just based on emotions. True love transcends this. Your love for someone is matured when there is “boldness” in the relationship.
That word is a Greek word that means frankness. Until you can talk to the person you claim you love frankly and freely without the need to pretend, impress, or be misunderstood you have not perfected love.

Another aspect of true love is the ability to show your weakness and failings without fear. There is boldness even when you are “under judgment”. These are people you can tell your problems and weaknesses without fear.

Finally, true love is present when we can identify with someone. “As he is so are we in this world.” To identify means: to be united in spirit, outlook, or principle. Unity breeds love; the more united we are, the closer we will be bound in love. Even lions love themselves.

When our vision, finances, passion and most things we do are united, then, we have true love.
