I don’t know about you but I love seasoned food. Food tastes nice when it’s seasoned. It’s interesting that God also asked Israel to season their offerings. His preferred seasoning was salt.

Why salt? One of the symbols of salt in the scriptures is peace.

Mark 9:50 states: “Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another” In other words, salt symbolizes harmonious relationships.

In the same way, God does not accept our offerings when we don’t have a good relationship with our spouse, friends, family or any other person.

Jesus said when you bring a gift before God and you remember you have a problem with a brother; “leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift” Matt 5:24.

Leviticus 2:13

“Season all your grain offerings with salt. Do not leave the salt of the covenant of your God out of your grain offerings; add salt to all your offerings.”

Remember that God likes “his food seasoned” so season all your gifts with “peace” and he will accept your prayer, offerings, worship and tithes.

Be reconciled to your brother.
