Proverbs 24:16
“For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again.”
The book of Job opens with a comment on the righteousness nature of Job. He was a man who feared God and eschewed evil. He went through many tribulations and eventually lost everything except his wife.
Sometimes we think Christianity is such that we do not have to go through challenges, tribulations, or crises. Because of this mentality, we do not expect good people to fail. We get so shocked and confused when we find ourselves in dark valleys.
Maybe as you read this devotional you are dealing with a particular sickness or disease, loneliness, or financial difficulty and you are blaming God for allowing these things to happen to you.
One fact remains: you are not exempted from failing simply because you serve God. Job’s friends blamed God for all that happened to him. They came up with all sorts of reasons. That‘s one thing about spiritual people; they always want to find a reason for everything.
Finally, God vindicated Job by making a comment on the whole situation. He said in Job 42:7, “My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath.”
The Lord said, righteous people can and will face challenges. The theory of Job’s friends was wrong. Have you watched the movie titled The Terminator before? If you have, you will recall the Terminator never gave up. It bounced back whenever it was down.
You are the new Terminator in town. Arise and shine in, Jesus’ name!
Make a decision to rise up now if you have fallen. Rejoice mightily, for joy is on its way!
