Philippians 4:11
“Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.”
Paul, in the scripture above, said he was content both in a good and bad state. He said, “My contentment is not based on my location; if I am in Ghana, I am content, if I am in America, I am content, if I am in prison, I am content.”
When he was in prison, Paul wrote letters comforting those outside. “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19, “Fight the good fight of faith…..” 1 Timothy 6:12 and so on.
If it were you or I, we would complain about our situation in the prison. Nobody could tell then, that Paul was in prison. Contentment is something you carry within your spirit. It is something God gives to you even in prison.
That is what Satan does not tell us. People sell everything; they sell their bodies, their reputation, their God, their friends, and their future. They sell everything for money and end up more dissatisfied than they used to be. No one can make you content apart from God.
Pray and ask God to make you content in everything you have or do.
