1 Samuel 17:50
“So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David.”
The conventional weapons used to fight in the time of David were a sword or spear, but David used a sling and a stone to defeat Goliath.
Many times, when we are believing the Lord to help us win the battles of life, we tend to think of sophisticated resources that we don’t have. We may look up to non existent finances, jobs or opportunities. God will use the very things you have to give you victory. It may only be a sling or a stone; something you have that looks insignificant.
It is time to pick up your sling or stone; the little money, idea, opportunity, skill or training that you have to slay your giant. When the Spirit of God gets behind it, you can accomplish great things with those little resources.
Peter had a net; Moses had a rod; the couple at the wedding in Cana of Galilee had water. What do you have?
Step out in faith with your sling and stone, and slay your Goliath!
