Psalms 119:120
“My flesh trembleth for fear of thee; And I am afraid of thy judgments.”

One of the things we are encouraged to do as Christians is to fear God. When we fear God, it helps us to be obedient to him. Assume a stranger walks into your home with a gun and says, “kneel down!” I believe you will comply not because you love him, but because of your fear of the gun he is wielding.

The fear of God has many promises and one of them is the promise of wisdom.

In this verse, the psalmist begins by commenting on his fear of God. He says “my flesh trembles”. Trembling is the outward manifestation of fear, thus making fear tangible.
How did he come to this state? Knowledge about the judgments of God; “I am afraid of thy judgments”

For example, certain countries judge drug traffickers harshly by sentencing them to death. Countries with more severe judgments and punishment tend to have fewer drug cases. When people know that their actions will be judged, they are generally more compliant.

When you know the judgments of God, it makes you fearful of Him so study his judgments!
