“But to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared.”
One day, an argument ensued between the disciples of Jesus about who would be the greatest. Jesus gave His response, saying, “But to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared.”
Inasmuch as we can emulate people, there are certain things that cannot be photocopied because they are the product of God’s choices and grace.
I have seen people try desperately to copy other people out of personal ambition and competition and fail miserably because they were not equipped for it. I may desire to be a better footballer than Lionel Messi, but it will not matter how hard I train; football is definitely not one of my God-given gifts.
However, I thank God He has prepared something for me too. It may be different but I have my own stuff. Do you think Messi writes devotionals like me? I doubt it!
Stop looking at others and identify what God has prepared for you to avoid experiencing an inferiority complex!
