2 Chronicles 35:21
“But Necho sent messengers to him, saying, “What quarrel is there, king of Judah, between you and me? It is not you I am attacking at this time, but the house with which I am at war. God has told me to hurry; so stop opposing God, who is with me, or he will destroy you.”
There are times when good people suddenly fail. This is not limited only to people but companies, ministries, families and successful people.
When you are good at something, you can begin to feel invincible.
Josiah was a very successful king who served the Lord. Because of this, everything he did prospered. Then he became careless and strayed into a battle he was not supposed to fight. Success can make you stray into areas that you don’t have the grace, skill or experience for.
He declared war against Necho, king of Egypt, who was fighting a war with another nation. Necho advised him not to do so because he did not have grace for it. He said, “Stop opposing God, who is with me, or he will destroy you.”
He did not listen and was wounded in that battle. He later died from his wounds.
You cannot be too good to fail, so learn to operate within the boundaries of your grace, skill and calling.
Don’t die from your wounds!
