One of the main keys to blessings is obedience. From my personal observation there are more blessings connected to obedience than any other requirement in the scriptures. However I have seen people substitute obedience with prayer, fasting, attending church, tithing and other important Christian activities.
In the scriptures, God always uphold obedience above any of these. Saul substituted obedience for offerings and sacrifices and God said “obedience is better than sacrifice.” In Isaiah Israel substituted obedience with fasting and prayer and God said “you cannot fast as you do this way to make your voice to be heard on high”
Deuteronomy 19:9
“If thou shalt keep all these commandments to do them, which I command thee this day, to love the Lord thy God, and to walk ever in his ways; then shalt thou add three cities more for thee, beside these three:”
God told Israel that He would grow their wealth if they obeyed Him. He would add three more cities to what they already have. The blessing was going to come by itself without the aid of anything, all they had to do was to walk in obedience.
