When I was about to enter ministry, I asked my Dad his opinion about my decision. He told me he had lived for a long time, and interacted with many pastors, and from experience, he had noticed that three types of people can be found in ministry.

The first he said were people who God had called. He added that those people were always fruitful.

The second were people who became ministers for financial gain.

The third were people who were not called but felt they had to help.

The last two he concluded bore little fruit. He quoted scripture without knowing it. These three types of people can be found in Matthew 19:12.

It reads, “For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother’s womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.”

Who did God create you to be? Anything you do merely for financial reasons, or to satisfy a desire, and is not your calling will result in little fruit.

Be who God wants you to be and watch yourself flourish!
