Ephesians 6:10-11
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”
A student who starts learning just before an exam is bound to fail, because preparation is the key to success. There are many people who seek God and try to be spiritual only in a time of crisis. God is not some sort of ambulance for emergencies. We must be “battle ready” before trouble comes.
The spiritual gifts of God, like any military weapon and garb are heavy. To be able to wear or operate them, we must be able to build ourselves with spiritual exercises, like prayer, fasting etc. You have to be spiritually strong to operate spiritual gifts because, armour is heavy.
Let us build our strength with the Word, prayer and fasting, and we will be able to use the weaponry of discernment, miracles and faith effectively!
