1 Samuel 16:7
“Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.”

The word “perspective” means your point of view. A “godly” perspective means seeing things through the eyes of God.

When Samuel was sent to anoint the next king, he assumed it would be David’s older brother because he was tall and handsome. “And it came to pass, when they were come, that he looked on Eliab, and said, Surely the Lord’s anointed is before him” (1 Sam. 16:6).

God told him not to look at him from a natural perspective. As Christians we must learn to look at things from God’s perspective. Some people have specific qualities they look out for before choosing a life partner. They are mostly concerned about the physical qualities. Some do not want to marry tall or short men, etc. With God it is different.

Jesus said in Luke 16:15, “Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.”

Let us learn to have a godly perspective. Choose today to look at things from God’s perspective!
