Proverbs 27:20
“Hell, and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied.”

Any time I read the story of Samson and Delilah, I get fascinated by how Delilah was able to get Samson to tell her the secret of his strength. It was clear to Samson that Delilah wanted to kill him because she had made previous attempts to do so. Finally, she succeeded! It was a fatal attraction!

In summary, I can say Samson was charmed to destruction and death. The word ‘charm’ means compelling attractiveness. Why is it that we can sometimes walk knowingly towards death and destruction, even when we are aware of the consequences?

Why keep a relationship that is destroying you or take a decision that you know will end your career, or destroy your family? Why keep friends who are destroying you?

You can always charm human beings by showing them something which looks attractive and beautiful, and they will sometimes follow irrespective of the consequences. Because our eyes are never satisfied, they can be charmed. A beautiful woman, handsome man, money or a glorious opportunity can charm you to your death. All that glitters is not gold; it could be the eye of a snake.

Be guided by the Word not your eyes, for we walk by faith and not by sight!
