The ability to work together for a common purpose or benefit is important for any relationship; be it marriage, business or church. It is crucial for success. This can be summed up in one word cooperation.
Even in marriage, it is very difficult for couples to work together. I have seen couples struggle to cooperate to even build a house for themselves because they pursue different visions and interests. What can you do to get others to cooperate with you to build something together?
2 Chronicles 30:12
“Also in Judah the hand of God was to give them one heart to do the commandment of the king and of the princes, by the word of the Lord.”
The King of Judah was able to get his people to cooperate with him, “to do the commandment of the king”. How did he manage to get diverse people to work with him?
He achieved cooperation through spiritual means. It was done by the help of the “hand of God” or the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is also called the hand of God in the scriptures. The Holy Spirit influenced their hearts “the hand of God was to give them one heart”.
How can we achieve this?
First of all, we can pray to God to cause his Spirit to foster cooperation in a relationship, business, family etc.
Secondly, obedience to the word fosters cooperation because God works all things according to the counsel of his own will.”
