Jeremiah 15:16
“Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O Lord God of hosts.”
Many are depressed in the world today and some may want to get “high” in order to forget some of the pressures of life. That is one reason why people take drugs – to get a temporary feeling of joy. I have good news for you! God also has a “high” for you!
Do you know why people take drugs? One reason is, it gives them a temporary feeling of joy. Unfortunately, it wears off, destroys the body and keeps them hooked. Some even turn to crime to sustain this habit.
The world can be a depressing place, and the pressures of work, family, school, children, health, challenges and issues can lead you into depression.
God has a “high” for you. It is called “The Word of God.”
Jeremiah said, “Thy words were found.” Make it a point to find the word of God intentionally by reading your bible, otherwise other words will find you. Negative words from the media, the office, friends, enemies, commercials, doctors, and the world will find you without you having to search for them.
Jeremiah continued, “After I found it, I ate it,” which means, “I lived by it and was filled with joy and rejoiced. In other words, I became “High!”
Make sure to get ‘high’ each morning and evening with the Word of God and drive depression away!
