James 1:16-17
“Do not err, my beloved brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”

Do not “err” means do not make a mistake. One of the devil’s cardinal weapon is deception. For example, there is a common deception that money is the only source of good things. Although it can be a source of good things, it can also be a source of troubles depending on your relationship with God.

God, not money, is the source of all good things. “Every good and perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” James 1:17. We are reminded that all good things have their source in God.

A good spouse is from the Lord. “House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife is from the LORD.” Prov. 19:14

Good sleep is from the Lord. “I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.” Ps. 4:8

Peace and joy are from the Lord. “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.” Rom. 14:17

Seek God and you will discover He is the source of all good things!
