Genesis 48:16
“The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers; Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.”

I find this prayer very interesting; very unusual. Why because, Jacob himself was a fraudulent man who needed a lot of protection. He stole the birth right of his brother; he went to work for his uncle and became richer than him.

However, there was a particular angel that was watching over him all the time. Anytime you saw Jacob, you would think you are seeing a natural man but he was a supernatural man; there was angel guarding him.

When he was about to die, he laid hands on Joseph’s sons and blessed them. He prayed that the angel that had kept him would keep them also.

Because Jacob prayed this prayer, Ephraim and Manasseh enjoyed a kind of spiritual protection. May this same angel of God, the one that kept Jacob, Ephraim, and Manasseh, keep you in Jesus name, amen!
