“I will not drive them out from before thee in one year; lest the land become desolate and the beast of the field multiply against thee. By little and little I will drive them out from before thee, until thou be increased, and inherit the land.”
Ex 23:29,30
Sometimes we ask God for things without considering the consequences. Israel was excited about the breakthrough of having land, but they had not considered the beasts that dwelt on the land. God told them the land would be inherited progressively not instantaneously. The reason was simple; they had to increase in number and strength in order not to be overcome by the beasts.
Breakthroughs come with “beasts,”; in other words enemies, problems, stress and pressure.
For example, you will have to develop self control to have a successful marriage. Your faith must be developed to survive a hostile office environment. You must be holy to carry a heavy anointing because demons will increase their attacks on you.
You may think you are waiting for God but God is waiting for you to develop in character, spiritually, mentally and emotionally to give you your breakthrough!
