There are times when we cannot see eye to eye with other people. We can’t seem to agree over an issue. Especially when it’s a good thing. This can be a great source of conflict and pain. Some people use intimidation, threats, manipulation or even curses to win a standoff. This becomes even more confusing when it borders on spiritual things.
Recently, someone told me he believed God was leading him to do something. I told him I personally did not believe it was from the Lord. At the end of the discussion he asked me to pray with him. I was in a dilemma; I did not want to create the impression I had a problem with him. I also did not want to pray about something I did not believe in. What do you do in such instances? I prayed that the will of the Lord will be done.
Acts 21:14
“And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.”
There was disagreement between Paul and his fellow ministers concerning his journey to Jerusalem. They felt it was not the will of God but he felt otherwise. The solution to this stalemate was a prayer that satisfied all parties. “The will of the Lord be done.”
In moments of disagreement we can humbly pray this prayer. We don’t know everything and the sincerest person could be sincere and wrong. God can handle his own issues.
