“And he stayed yet other seven days; and sent forth the dove; which returned not again unto him any more.”
Have you ever lost something that was precious to you? It could be someone you love who broke your heart. It could be that you were skipped when it was time for promotion although you had done all the hard work. Somehow, some people stepped in and stole the credit. Maybe, someone you helped abandoned you when you needed their help. Sometimes after investing in something, you lose it without a return on your investment.
After feeding and caring for your “dove” your “dove” flies away without acknowledging your investment and input.
Noah cared for a dove during the flood but when the flood dissipated the dove he sent never came back. It was an opportunist that saw Noah as a source of food and accommodation.
Don’t worry if your dove doesn’t come back because it may also signal a change in season and new opportunities. Noah stepped out of the ark when the dove did not come back because he knew the flood was over. It was a new season.
When the dove doesn’t come back it signals a new season with new opportunities.
