Deuteronomy 34:8
“And the children of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days: so the days of weeping [and] mourning for Moses were ended.”
Sometimes as Christians, we try to act as “Superman.” In times of adversity and mourning, we try to portray a “Spiritual Macho Exterior.” People may be impressed but God is not impressed.
When we have been through a difficult divorce, failure, the death of a loved one or the loss of a job, God expects us to set aside some time for mourning. This period is necessary as it allows the soul to heal. However, it is important to note; this period is not indefinite! God allowed Israel to mourn thirty days for Moses.
Are you in a time of mourning? Feel free to do so but remember you have thirty days to get over it.
