Joy is a product of the soul and the spirit. It is something that can be stimulated by external forces but it still has to be produced internally. This explains why you can be filthy rich and still be miserable. I was recently listening to a millionaire who had given most of his money away to lead a simple life. His explanation was he traveled to Africa and saw people who were very poor but extremely joyful. His conclusion was that this has to be something internal.

Proverbs 15:15

“All the days of the afflicted are evil: but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast”

Some people seem to be in perpetual depression “All the days of the afflicted are evil”. They may be waiting for their external circumstances to change before they celebrate. On the other hand, you can “have a party” or make merry in your heart although all may not be well with you.

It’s time to start a party in your heart. How can you do this?

The word of God can release the joy of the Lord into your heart. Jeremiah said, “Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart”.

While you are waiting for a particular situation to change, don’t forget to throw a party in your heart.  Let the party begin.
