There are some situations in life where the highest form of wisdom to use is silence. There are times when you may find yourself with a devil’s alternative. Any word, choice, or move you make is likely to have a negative effect. You find yourself surrounded by bad alternatives. To make matters worse no amount of explanation can suffice. You can be accused falsely or be misunderstood

Sometimes, people have already formed a certain opinion about you and nothing can change it. Only time and your actions can exonerate you. The best thing to do in such instances is not to speak because when you do, it will worsen the case.

Amos 5:13
“Therefore the prudent shall keep silence in that time; for it is an evil time”

I know someone who was once found in a compromising situation with a certain woman. He had nothing to do with her but the evidence did not seem to support that fact. He said nothing nor offered any excuses because it was an evil time. Time and his own deeds proved his innocence.

Pray for discernment to be able to distinguish between when to speak and when to be silent.
