It’s easy to complain because many things in life can leave you with the feeling of dissatisfaction, pain, or disappointment. It could be your job, marriage, schooling, finances, or even God; because you feel let down by him.

Complaining is a spiritual sin that can have serious spiritual consequences, which you may be ignorant of. Let’s examine one;

Psalms 77:3
“I remembered God, and was troubled: I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah”

Asaph who wrote this psalm, “remembered” God in the midst of his problems and wondered why God was not responding to them. He said, “Hath God forgotten to be gracious? Hath he in anger shut up his tender mercies? Selah” (Psalms 77:9).

Complaining does not solve problems, it makes them worse. In this case, his spirit was “overwhelmed.” This means to faint or be depressed. Complaining will make you depressed so avoid it.

In everything, give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
