We all need to develop leadership qualities because we are all leaders. At least you are a leader of yourself.

David was one of the great leaders of Israel and before he died he gave a tip about leadership, let’s examine some.

2 Samuel 23:3-4
“The God of Israel spoke, the Rock of Israel said to me: ‘When one rules over people in righteousness, when he rules in the fear of God, he is like the light of morning at sunrise
on a cloudless morning, like the brightness after rain that brings grass from the earth.”

The first thing I want you to notice is God gave him this leadership key; He said, “The Rock of Israel said to me.”

Secondly, you need to be righteous: “Rule over people in righteousness.” For example, I have seen some young intelligent people from good homes become failures. Some went into alcohol, drugs etc. They could not lead themselves well because of sin.

To lead their homes well, husbands need to be righteous. To be good leaders, politicians must not be corrupt. That’s why righteousness is key.

Thirdly, you need to fear God. The fear of God helps you to be righteous. For example, when the police are on the road the fear of them alone, makes drivers “righteous” or compliant.

When you fear God you will be righteous. God is not only to be loved but to be feared.

Be a good leader at least of yourself.
