1 Chronicles 13:3
“And let us bring again the ark of our God to us: for we enquired not at it in the days of Saul.”

The reign of David as king over Israel was more successful than the reign of Saul. One major difference was David was their connection to the Lord.

The ark of the covenant contained the presence of God. When David became king, one of the first things he did was to bring the ark back to Jerusalem.
One of the things we also need to do is to cultivate the presence of God through prayer, holiness and worship.

The next thing David did was to “inquire at it” (the ark). Saul did not seek counsel from God, he did what seemed good in his own sight.
When we seek the counsel of the Lord through the scriptures and the Holy Spirit, we have access to the wisdom and power of God.

Cultivate the presence of God and seek his counsel because they are ingredients of success.
