1 Corinthians 4:5
“Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.”

Sometimes when you consider the judgment of God you may wonder if God is fair. God is not fair; He is just. A woman who was believing God for a baby once complained bitterly to me saying, “I have served God all my life but I am finding it very difficult to conceive. Meanwhile, I know unbelievers who keep on aborting their babies.”

First Corinthians 4:5 gives us an idea of God’s justice system. First of all, God judges the things we do in secret; “the hidden things.” Do you steal, lie, malign, or engage in immoral acts in secret Remember, although no one can see you, God can.

Secondly, God judges our motives; “the counsels of our hearts.” For example, what is your motive for going to church? Is it to find a new girlfriend, make business contacts, win votes in a political election, or to serve God?

Let’s make sure we watch these two things, because God’s judgments will be based on them!
