I have a friend who sometimes say; “that was when I was in Egypt.” He makes this quote when he makes reference to the things he did when he was in the world or not born again.

Egypt can be symbolic of the world. When Israel came out of Egypt, the older generation died in the wilderness. The younger generation made it to the Promised Land but they were not circumcised. What can this mean to us?

Joshua 5:5
All the people that came out had been circumcised, but all the people born in the wilderness during the journey from Egypt had not.

Romans 2:29
Circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a person’s praise is not from other people, but from God.

Circumcision is symbolic of being born again or having a new heart or spirit. It is possible to be religious; “come out of Egypt,” and not be born again in Spirit.

To make it to heaven; our Promised Land, you must be born again. Are you born again?
If not, pray this prayer with me;

“Dear Lord, I repent of my sins. I believe that you died for me. Please wash me with your blood. Be the lord and master of my life. I receive you into my heart. Amen!”
