Romans 12:2
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

One of the most difficult things to do is to surrender your will to someone or something. You can surrender everything: your money, time, effort, body, etc., but not your will. Why? Because your will is your power to choose.

You can only be under God’s control when you are able to surrender your will to Him. The moment to a point where you can confidently say, “God, I am not going to make any decisions. I want You to make the decisions for me; tell me who I should marry, etc.,” you have surrendered your will to Him.

Luke 22:42 reads, “Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.” Jesus knew the price He had to pay in order to die on the cross. But He finally surrounded His will to His Father because that was the only way to fulfill His purpose.

You cannot experience the will of God and not go through pain. Once you follow His will, it will take you to the cross. You cannot escape it. You may have to leave some friends behind in order for His will to be done in your life. God is saying to you, “Come off from among them and be ye separated.” Your Master will choose your friends for you.

The devil puts all kinds of ideas in the minds of people. He discredits God in their minds. People get worried about what will happen if they surrender their will to God. They say to themselves, “Maybe He will lead me to marry that man in the choir who does not use deodorant and wears short trousers. I don’t want that kind of man.”

God’s plans for you are of good and not evil. Let’s learn to follow His will.

Pray to God and ask Him for grace to surrender your will to Him!
