The term to “succeed against the odds” means to succeed although the likelihood of success is very low or the circumstances don’t favour you.
One way to succeed against all odds is to do things based on God’s word as revealed in the scriptures or by the Holy Spirit.
Sometimes, the odds may be against you concerning childbirth, business, promotion or even passing an exam.
The word of God can ensure success for the following reasons.
Proverbs 21:30
“There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan. That can succeed against the Lord.”
Firstly, you can fail because the “wisdom” of people who are more powerful and influential than you can derail or sabotage a business contract or an opportunity.
Secondly, people’s “insight” or knowledge of the internal workings of your company, secrets, history or relationship can sometimes be used against you.
Thirdly, there are others who may “plan” against you in secret and openly because of jealousy etc.
How do you defend yourself against the odds when you have to work within the context of a hostile environment?
When you do things based on the direction of the Holy Spirit and the principles of the Bible, the Word of God will rise to defend and provide for you.
