Jonah 1:8-9
“Then said they unto him, Tell us, we pray thee, for whose cause this evil is upon us; What is thine occupation? and whence comest thou? what is thy country? and of what people art thou? And he said unto them, I am an Hebrew; and I fear the Lord, the God of heaven, which hath made the sea and the dry land.”

I hope you know the story of Jonah. The Lord asked him to go and preach the Gospel at Nineveh but instead he fled and boarded a ship to Tarshish. As a result a great storm from the Lord came upon them.

This Scripture is part of his dialogue with the sailors as they tried to find out the cause of the storm. You will notice he started praising and boasting about the God he served, but he was fully in disobedience. This is what I call “spiritualized disobedience.”

There are people who become spiritual and start singing worship songs when they are quarreling with someone else. There are some who have so-called visions and dreams, which seem to justify their sin and disobedience.

There are lazy students and people who hide under the cover of Christian meetings to dodge their responsibility.

Let’s call disobedience what it is and not spiritualize it. Desist from spiritual disobedience if you find yourself in this category!
